NEW YORK - Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ - Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism announced record-breaking numbers of travelers from the United States who visited Israel in July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 travelers from the United States in July 2022, a 4% increase from 2019 and 71,000 travelers from the United States in August 2022 that's an increase of 13% from the year before.


Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States has been our largest source of tourism for Israel inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 we were celebrating record figures of the number of tourists entering Israel every month.

Just like the United States, Canada is in the process of surpassing its tourist arrivals in Israel with 7,200 visitors in July 2022 and 6000 in August.

Gal Hana is the Consul and Director for Canada within the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We aren't too far from our record-setting numbers in 2019 We are hoping that this increase in tourism to Israel will further increase as Canadians remain at ease traveling abroad."

Israel received more visitors from around the world in 2019 than any other country. 969 600 of these were American. Israel's official opening for all tourists was in May of 2018. Israel has been home to over 600,400 US tourists since the time of opening.
